Deerhunter by Simian Mobile Disco
New Simian Mobile Disco edit/remix for an incredible band from Altlanta, who, I recently missed because I had forgotten that they were playing that night, here in Montreal. I'm sure it was great, I hope Bradford Cox's dress was remarkable as always. If you like Deerhunter, try this remix it's quite interesting. Simian Mobile Disco really took a nice approach, it's very tasteful, the song doesn't lose anything and is not completely transformed which is a plus in this particular case. Definitely worth a listen.

Joe & Will Ask?
This two-piece band just do not stop working. There's always something going on with them. Whether they're releasing a new single, finishing a remix or most of all throwing an incredible live set , these boys just never cease to amaze me. Talking about their live sets, they have yet to play outside Europe so if you want to catch them in action they usually play within the London area. shouldn't be very long. Here's a glimpse of their talent.

Mr. Oizo
Mr. Oizo is a genius. Period. He is by far my favorite french artist. His new LP Lambs Anger is brilliant. Go buy it, it's worth every penny. Here's a glimpse of what it sounds like but as we all know, he always explore new sounds for each track so you never really know what to expect.

Mr. Oizo - Cut Dick
Mr. Oizo - Positif
Glass Candy
I saw Glass Candy the other night at Gymnase. The show was completely sold out so I had to bargained my way in. Anyway, the show was great. The setlist was well taught and the crowd response was really good. The slower Italo-Disco were really refreshing, and I really enjoyed hearing them trough a real club soundsytem. If you never heard of them, here are some of their songs.

Damn Arms
Finally !!! Something new from Damn Arms. They remixed fellow australian band Cut Copy which is always good, but the thing i'm a little less thrilled about is that they are not a full band anymore. I knew they were taking their Dj game more seriously, touring Japan as Dj's and all but I never really imagined that some members actually left. Oh well, at least the two most important faces (G.L.O.V.E.S + Tim) are still around. Can't wait for their new single Destination which is due for early Janurary 2009. This will definitely keep you waiting.

We Have Band
We Have Band are a bright new group from London. Officially playing their first show about half a year ago, the band is now doing very well since they were first discovered by most of us the new Kitsuné comp. Their latest single, Oh actually sounds a lot like The Rapture and it can be a little distracting, still the remixes are all pretty different, exploring different textures and vibes.

Dances With White Girls
I recently learned that The Rapture's James Friedman had officially launched his new record label called Throne Of Blood. For the occasion, the label released New Crack King from one of my favorite thug house producer Dances With White Girls. Here is some quality Bmore action.

A Thing For You
Here are 2 great remixes of A Thing For Me by excellent london band Metronomy. I had the chance to see them this summer for the first time at Saints and I had to admit I didn't expect to sound this good live. I think they were were all wearing the same black outfits but what I do remember was their portable lights tapped to their shirts. Anyhow, their show was great,Kap Bambino, Bobmo and So-Me (who remplaced Jean Nippon stucked at the borders) played afterwards, but I didn't stay long after Kap Bambino because the place got empty real quick ..ah. It was during the Osheaga weekend so plenty more was happening that night including Ghislain Poirier playing next door at Club Soda and some other events I don't recall were also on this night's list.

Heaven For The Weather
This is the latest single from Mr. Mike Skinner. It is off his latest album Everything Is Borrowed and it has a real nice Motown vibe on it. Motown seems to have made a big comeback this last summer. Every time I go out I hear at least one all-time classic and to be honest I'm very fine with it because I enjoy playing a few Motown hits myself.

Lykke Li Cover
This is really good. Those three englishmen really do deserve every bit of attention they've been getting this past month. But not only did they release their long awaited debut self titled LP this last month, they also managed to cover Lykke Li gigantic hit I'm Good, I'm Gone, outshining by far every remixes made for that song or for any Lykke Li song for that matter.
Lykke Li - I'm Good I'm Gone (Friendly Fires Cover)
Hear The Drums
Drums Of Death recently did a remix for NYC's very own Drop The Lime. The original itself is not so new but DOD really did a good job on working those good ol' Drop The Lime basslines/sounds and self made vocals. Give it a listen.
Drop The Lime - Hear Me (Drums Of Death Remix)
New Trevor Loveys Dub
London’s best Trevor Loveys just re-dubed his own Machines Don’t Care original. As you may know Machines Don’t Care is a collective with the sickest Bass/ Fidget/ Everything producers including Hervé and Trevor Loveys himself (who originally composed Beat Bang).
Machines Don't Care - Beat Bang (Trevor Loveys Dub)
Shooked
Brid Peterson, another of my personal fave, hits us with is new production. Using a sample from the Mobb Deep track Shook One, this distorted yet bouncy production is right were it needs to be. Enjoy.
Bird Peterson - Shooked
Les Fleurs de Jesse Rose
Jesse Rose just remixed Kenneth Bager’s Fragment Seven (Les Fleurs). It’s very a Londonish, bouncy, fidgety production. Just something to chew on while you wait for Mr. Rose next masterpiece. Oh and check out his new Hot Chip collab, it's more accessible, i'll put it up.

Another well known New Yorker has been releasing a few titles this last month, I'm talking of course about non other than Armand Van Helden. Here is one of the 2 new singles released on Southern Fried Records, which was remixed by fidget's wonderboy Mowgli, New York's prolific Drop The Lime, and a double dub+remix formula by Dogmatix.

Erol's Rework
This next remix as been out for a few weeks now and is definitely still getting bigger and bigger, I'm talking of course about the new glitchy/electro/tech Erol Alkan remix of ZZT's seocond release and new single The Worm. For additional information, ZZT is a very unique duo formed by Montreal's international dj Tiga and german producer Zombie Nation (also known as John Starlight). They are signed and produced of course by Tiga's own label Turbo Recordings, and have released one of last year's biggest hit Lower State of Consciousness.
